Kanika & Leslie's Wedding ~ Milwaukee County War Memorial Center

When it started raining five minutes before their outdoor ceremony, even I was a little worried. Normally it's either a rainy day, or it isn't... so the couple and venue can make a judgement call on whether or not to take the ceremony inside. But the weather on their wedding day decided to be a little tricky and surprise us all! Fortunately the weather was just playing a practical joke on us :) It rained for a brief 10 minutes, changed over to beautiful sunshine, and dried up immediately!

Rewinding a bit, our day started with Kanika and her ladies getting ready at the charming Sheuster Mansion. It was the perfect backdrop for their "anticipation" photos...

Kanika's dress was by far the heaviest one I have ever lifted!!! It was well worth the workout of carrying it down the stairs, though, because I got one of my most favorite dress shots :) The owner of the bed and breakfast was the sweetest and helped me out with her step-ladder, too. (Kanika, how on earth did your petite frame walk around in that dress without falling over?!)

Such a picturesque bride...

The guys having a good time at the War Memorial before the ceremony...

Kanika and her mom, just about ready to walk outside to the ceremony...

Leslie and his groomsmen were all smiles when they saw Kanika walking down the aisle :)

Tying God's Knot, symbolizing their and God's unity. "Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken."

Jumping the broom!

We LOVE their rose petal exit!

Leslie carried his grandmother's rosary on their wedding day...

Leslie's best man told the most hilarious and embarrassing story about Leslie... good thing Leslie has a great sense of humor! :) But he didn't tell it just to embarrass him... it truly illustrated Leslie's dedication to the people he cares about.

Kanika's sorority sisters performing for her...

And Leslie and his fraternity brothers performing for Kanika...

Congratulations, Kanika and Leslie! We hope that any rain you encounter together is just as brief as the rain on your wedding day!

We had a blast photographing your wedding :)
