Kate & Rhett's Backyard Wedding ~ Lake Monona, Madison WI

Kate and Rhett had such a chill, fun, beautiful wedding. They got married at Kate's parents' house, who also had a backyard wedding over 30 years ago just three houses away. They couldn't have asked for more beautiful weather, and the enjoyment of their guests only grew exponentially as the day went on :) It was the perfect mix of an awesome couple, summer breeze, the sound of waves, beautiful gardens and great music. I think it was also a cool atmosphere because of the mix of people there... Rhett's family and friends from the South, Kate's family and friends from the Midwest, friends from DC where they currently live, and friends from England (Kate and Rhett met at the University of Oxford). Anyway, here are some of our favorite photos from their day...

We photographed their Bride and Groom shots at the Allen Centennial Gardens and then met up with the wedding party at UW-Madison's terrace.















Kate's mom's gardens were the perfect backdrop for their ceremony and reception. Below is a photo of some flocks derived from her great-grandmother's.
