Christine and Brent’s engagement session was a blast walking through the woods, a field, and huge Lake Michigan waves... they’re such a fun couple and we were really looking forward to their wedding :)
Sure enough, we had an awesome time photographing their day. Their ceremony was at the church Christine grew up attending (she’s actually the third generation in her family to get married there), and their reception was at the Butte des Morts Country Club. They had the kindest staff there, letting us all (and by “all” I mean over 20 people!) take golf carts onto the course for photos! They even gave Adam and I a little tour of the course so we could scout photo locations prior to the wedding :)
Needless to say, it was so much fun riding around with everybody and taking photos. Here are our favorite shots from their day...
This might be my favorite dress shot I’ve ever taken :)
Christine’s bridesmaids were doing “rain dances” before the ceremony to ward off the rain (and it worked! Thanks, girls! The rain held off until we were done taking photos).
Christine wore her grandmother’s pearl ring and her mom’s vail. It’s so special when family heirlooms are incorporated.
The guys had this hilarious idea for the shot below (no, they’re not actually going).
Such a beautiful bride...
While we were riding around the course, Christine and Brent spotted this turtle. Perfect opportunity for a ring shot! The turtle was camera shy at first, but eventually came out of his shell :)
Candy bar!
Brent’s dad gave such a great speech. When he said that Brent came back from deployment a man, I even got a little teary eyed (Thank you, Brent, for your service!). So not only was his speech super touching, but it was also hilarious when he shared a story about taking Brent hunting for the first time: he heard the gun fire, and couldn’t believe Brent got a deer within the first five minutes... only to discover that Brent shot the car (I’d still like to hear how exactly that happened, Brent)! No one had ever heard this story before, and the reactions were priceless! Check out the groomsmen below...
Christine being held up by Brent and his military buddies...
Brent was WELL prepared to remove Christine’s garter! :D
Congratulations, Christine and Brent! Hope your marriage is always just as fun as your wedding day :)
